Venetian Walnut And Ivory Inlayed Cabinet On Stand with an Eastern inspired design popular in Italy in the mid 19th Century. Having a central door with an inlay design of an urn and flowers flanked by pillars. A series of eight drawers to the top and a long drawer to the bottom on a tapering leg base. All over Ivory and Lemonwood inlay work of flowers and geometric patterns to the front, sides and legs. C.1870.

The lower section has two banks of four bow fronted drawers with a central locking door. The desk stands on short cabriole legs and has its original iron hardware throughout. Also retaining its original brass plaque. Excellent colour and patination.

The bureaux having a bombe shape with a pull-out writing slide revealing an arrangement of drawers and a door, flanked by two slide out bookend boxes with secret locking mechanism. With all over marquetry decoration in various fruitwoods of shell and urn medallions and floral swags within Greek key borders.  Having ormolu mounts and handles.
